Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make an appointment?

Patients are seen by appointment, so please call in advance so that our staff may reserve a time that works for your schedule. For patients who need a specific time or day for a routine hygiene visit, we recommend scheduling six months in advance to ensure you can get the time that you want.

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

For your first visit to our office please bring a valid form of ID, the completed new patient forms that you can find on our website, a medication list, and your dental insurance card.

What can I expect at my first visit to your office?

Your initial visit is the time for you to become acquainted with our staff, ask any questions you may have, and get familiar with our office policies and procedures. At your initial visit the doctor will perform a comprehensive exam that will include a review of your medical and dental history, any necessary x-rays, periodontal (gum) exam, hard tissue (teeth) exam, oral cancer screening, and an explanation of your detailed treatment plan specific to your dental needs. Bringing any x-rays or dental history reports from your previous office will help make this appointment go more smoothly. Please keep in mind that the New Patient Exam appointment is separate from your first visit with the hygienist. Though you may be able to schedule these appointments back-to-back, we prefer to schedule your new patient exam appointment separately from your appointment with the hygienist in order for the doctor to complete a full examination of your periodontal health and better determine the amount of time needed and number of appointments necessary with the hygienist.

What insurance do you accept?

We currently submit to all PPO insurance plans and will work hard to maximize your dental benefits. Some companies pay fixed allowances for certain procedures and others pay a percentage of the charge. Please remember, the service provided by any dentist amounts to an agreement between the patient and the dental office. The insurance relationship constitutes an agreement between the carrier and the patient, not the carrier and the dentist. The patient is still the responsible party regarding dental fees.

What are your payment options and financial policies?

Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We accept all major forms of payment, including checks, cash, VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We also will accept payment using Care Credit if services are over $500.00.

What is the procedure if I have a dental emergency?

Your comfort is very important to us. If you do have an urgent dental problem, please call us as early in the day as possible. This will make it easier to see you the same day. If you have a true dental emergency when we are not in the office, please call our office phone number and you will be directed as to what to do.

Are you handicap accessible?

We are able to see all kinds of handicapped patients. We have no stairs, and can easily accommodate patients in a wheelchair. Please call our office with any concerns.

What if I have an allergy to latex?

We are a latex free facility.

What Our Clients Say About Us

  • "I visited the office to have my periodontal work done. I visit every 3 months for this. Debbie does a wonderful job cleaning my teeth and also advises me regularly what I am doing right and what may need more attention. Dr. Mazzella always stops in to take a look at my teeth and just chat for a minute or two. I am very comfortable in this office as everyone, including staff, is very friendly but also very professional. Dr. Mazzella is the best dentist I have been to in a very long time - I have been going to his office for almost 6 years and it has been a wonderful experience. I always recommend him if anyone asks about my dentist."

    Gayle G
  • "I came into the office early on a Monday morning without an appointment with a tooth emergency. I thought the best I could get not bein in their schedule was either wait a long time to get seen between other patients or an antibiotic prescription and a time to come back later in the week. Instead, I was seen within 10 minutes and was done in a little over an hour. Dr Mazzella is the best and his team is the greatest in compassion and friendliness."
