For Dental Patients in Woodstock, Maryland

Your First Dental Visit

Your initial visit is the time for you to become acquainted with our staff, ask any questions you may have, and get familiar with our office policies and procedures. At your initial visit, we will perform a comprehensive exam that will include a review of your medical and dental history, any necessary x-rays, periodontal (gum) exam, hard tissue (teeth) exam, oral cancer screening, and an explanation of your detailed treatment plan specific to your dental needs.

Please keep in mind that the new patient exam appointment is separate from your first visit with the hygienist. Though you may be able to schedule these appointments back-to-back, we prefer to schedule your new patient exam appointment separately from your appointment with the hygienist in order for the doctor to complete a full examination of your periodontal health and better determine the amount of time needed and a number of appointments necessary with the hygienist.

For your first visit to our office please bring a valid form of ID, the completed new patient forms that you can find on our website, a medication list, and your dental insurance card. Bringing any x-rays or dental history reports from your previous office will help make this appointment go more smoothly.

What do I do if I have dental anxiety?

Our practice is a friendly, judgment-free space where all patients can receive care. Please call our office before your next visit if you require accommodation.

Are you handicap-accessible?

Our office can see all kinds of handicapped patients. We have no stairs and can easily accommodate patients in a wheelchair. Please call our office with any concerns.

Can I still visit the dentist if I’m pregnant?

Yes, we encourage pregnant women to continue to get regular dental cleanings. Sometimes, hormonal changes during pregnancy can increase women’s chance of developing problems like gum inflammation and disease. Gingivitis is a precursor to gum disease marked by red, swollen, and bleeding gums. Pregnant women can also be at an increased risk of developing cavities or holes in teeth caused by tooth decay. Please let us know if you are pregnant so we can help you combat these common oral health problems.
